Board Member, MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation Board, 2011 to Present
Chair of the Community Relations Committee. Primary purpose is to raise money to
provide scholarships, medical equipment and facilities to better health care services
in the region.

Board Member, Center for Children, 2010 to Present
This organization is a private, non-profit organization that provides comprehensive
mental health services to children and their families.

Board Member, Community Mediation Maryland, 2012 to Present
This organization seeks to provide Maryland residents access to affordable, high
quality community mediation services to solve conflicts in a collaborative manner.

Volunteer Judge, Teen Court of St. Mary’s County, 2007 to 2011
This organization aids teens with alternative dispute resolution by implementing
peer review, counseling and volunteer service.

Board Member, Southern Maryland Center for Family Advocacy, 1997 to 2004
Formerly known as the St. Mary’s County Women’s Center, this organization
supports battered spouses in their efforts to become self-supporting.

Board Member, St. Mary’s County Chapter of the American Red Cross, 1997 to
2003
Served two terms as Chairman from 2001-2003. Helped to coordinate response to
9/11 with other emergency service providers. Aided in the consolidation of the St.
Mary’s, Charles and Calvert chapters into the combined Southern Maryland Chapter
of the American Red Cross in order to better serve the needs of the citizens of
Southern Maryland.

Board Member, St. Mary’s County Ballet, 1997 to 2003
Aided in organization of local ballet and dance company in order to provide local
exposure to this art form to school children and others.

Member, Leonardtown Lions Club, 1990 to 2005
Held numerous leadership positions, including club president in 1996 and 1997.
Emphasis on providing aid to the blind and sight-impaired.

Member, Maryland  Farm Bureau, St. Mary’s County Chapter
A non-partisan group in which farmers can work together toward their goal of
maintaining the viability of farming as a vital activity in Maryland.
